SEM (Spotti Edizioni Milano)
Contemporary design, research and handcrafted execution
On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2018 SEM (Spotti Edizioni Milano) presents three new collections. Among these, Pivot collection, by wood designer Giacomo Moor, composed of several elements (desk, bookcase, corner console and free standing, storage and low table).
The round metal tubes that sustain the furniture structure are also an abrupt system of pins that allow the rotation of the thin metal doors, avoiding the use of hinges. To emphasise the new opening system, the brass metal elements are acid-etched on the surface in four different colours (blue, light blue, green and red) by Fonderia Battaglia exclusively for Pivot collection. The refined wood chosen for the shelves is the fossil elm, whose grey tones and materiality enrich the entire collection.
The brand also inaugurates its collaboration with the Turin-based architectural studio Marcante-Testa, which signs for SEM (Spotti Edizioni Milano) Futuraforma collection composed by the Duale table characterised by precious marble components, Mahogany wood and satin stainless steel metal sheets, the sophisticated brass Genio chandelier and Magico carpet.
Furthermore, Elisa Ossino creates for the Milanese brand the Check collection, whose name reminds of the distinctive geometric pattern of the wisely marked and playfully coloured furniture surfaces.
